New Year – Big Plans Big Dreams

Dream big or go home…

At this time of year especially, there are many people reflecting on the past year, the ups, the downs and everything in between. For me, its all about looking forward and planning my dreams for the year ahead.

2017 was a year of bitter sweetness filled with many fabulous memories, incredible opportunities, wonderful achievements, and all whilst experiencing it with the best people. Sadly though my family lost one of the most amazing people of all – my grandad. Suddenly what had been a great year graduating with a first class honours degree, acquiring my first full time job in what I never knew existed had become over shadowed with loss and knowing I would never see him again. They say loosing anyone is hard but loosing them around Christmas is even harder – but then I came to realise that he’s not gone, not really, it sounds cheesy but though he can’t physically be here, his presence always will be.

One of the last things he said to me was “spend it – in a job like yours you gotta look good” – to give you a bit more context my mum was telling him that I buy too many clothes (ha!)- so this year is all about spending even more – (just maybe a little more wisely perhaps). Losing him has only spurred me on even more to do not only myself proud but him as well.

This year I want to surpass myself, I want to be surprised by what I’ve been able to achieve. I want to continue to push myself and hit targets at work and for myself that didn’t seem possible at the beginning. April’s London Style Diary is only a baby which means there is SO much more for me to learn. There are many other bloggers and youtubers that inspire my style, my content and my thoughts on a daily basis which constantly motivates and teaches me how to grow; not only am I excited to keep on learning but I am honoured if I have ever inspired any of you or will do in the next 12 months. Watch this space because April’s London Style Diary is upping it’s game and dreaming big.

While juggling all of that I am so excited because in just a few weeks Scott and I are set to move into technically our third home together but the first we are buying ourselves! I have never been more obsessed with pinterest and my saved folder on instagram conveys my dream interior; think gold, pinks, white and grey. So get ready for lots more home posts coming your way.

In this day and age there is a lot of pressure to make one or several New Years Resolutions – things to give up, things you’re going to do and then a couple of months later they’ve been dropped and forgotten. I think dreams and goals are a much better idea – your dreams are permanent and for yourself; only you can make them happen. There’s no rules in reaching them, whatever it is, 2018 is the year to go for it.

Here’s to making many more beautiful memories, dreaming even bigger than the last and to making those we love and have lost, proud of everything that we do!
